We discuss the trends and issues we observed during the weeks of June 3-23, 2014. We discuss three trends we observed as we  flipped resources into our Flipboard magazine (http://bit.ly/trendsandissues). The trends we discussed were a range of articles about wifi access and Internet access (in K-12 schools, in particular) based on discussions going on at the Federal level about net neutrality, E-Rate, and other related policies;  wearables–specifically the rumors of Apple’s iWatch; and the recent increase in denial of service (DoS) attacks on Internet service companies like Evernote and Feedly.

We have two readings for this week.

We discuss the trends and issues we observed during the weeks of May 12-June 2, 2014. We discuss three trends we observed as we  flipped resources into our Flipboard magazine (http://bit.ly/trendsandissues). The trends we discussed are an increase in reporting about data security of personal information–particularly related to wearables; VR/AR wearables are becoming more prevalent–competitors to Google Glass and Oculus Rift are emerging; and the slowing Internet user growth as described in Mary Meeker’s report about Internet Trends 2014.

We have two readings for this week.
