We discuss the trends and issues we observed during the weeks of August 4-17, 2014. We discuss two trends and one are to keep an eye out for that we observed as we  flipped resources into our Flipboard magazine (http://bit.ly/trendsandissues). The trends we observed were cloud based classroom management tools and reviews and previews of hardware for the back-to-school season. The area we observed that we are keeping an eye out for is the adaptation of wearable devices. We see a maturing of wearable devices as they are being used in different ways and developed into different purposes (e.g. Intel earbuds that track human vitals and performance).

We have three recommended readings for the week.

We discuss the trends and issues we observed during the weeks of July 27-August 3, 2014. We discuss one trend and two other areas that were not quite trends that we observed as we  flipped resources into our Flipboard magazine (http://bit.ly/trendsandissues). The trends we observed was security issues. There were several articles on security issues with various devices–specifically related to the Internet of Things. We flipped several articles about reviews on different hardware devices (e.g. Amazon’s new smartphone), and we flipped a few good resources about instructional design.

We have three recommended readings for the week.
